Pickup Prep & What We Can't Haul
A few things every junk removal company has to leave behind, and a few things you can do to keep your pickup fast and your price on the low end.
What Junk Removal Companies Can't Haul Away
Every junk removal company, us included, has to leave a few categories on the truck. Not because we're picky, but because Florida law and basic safety require it.
Liquid Paint & Household Chemicals
Still-liquid paint, solvents, pesticides, and similar chemicals need a hazardous-waste site, not a regular truck. Our drop-off guide covers exactly where those go.
Asbestos & Contaminated Materials
Asbestos siding, insulation, or contaminated debris needs a licensed asbestos abatement contractor. No junk hauler, including us, is licensed to remove it.
Medical & Biohazard Waste
Needles and biohazard materials need a medical waste disposal service, not a junk truck. Old medications go to a pharmacy or sheriff's office take-back box.
Ammunition & Explosives
For obvious reasons, these go through law enforcement or a licensed disposal service, not a hauler.
Propane Tanks & Pressurized Cylinders
Empty or full, these are a fire risk on a truck. Propane exchange cages at hardware and grocery stores take empty tanks as a trade-in, and Orange County's hazardous waste sites take them free.
Getting Your Pickup Ready (and Keeping the Cost Down)
Since pricing is based on what you're adding to the minimum and how long a pickup takes, a little prep goes a long way toward keeping your number on the low end of the range.
Move It to One Spot
Garage, driveway, or curb is fastest for us to load. Stairs and long carries from a backyard take more time, and time is part of what you're paying for.
Group Similar Items
Keeping items together makes it faster for us to size up the load accurately and give you a firm number before we start.
Tell Us Everything Up Front
A quick call, text, or photo of the pile means fewer surprises, and no price changes, once we're on-site.
Separate Anything Hazardous
If it's on the list above (paint, chemicals, propane), keep it out of the pile. Our drop-off guide shows where those actually go.
